The Fundraiser:

Spirit of the Land Foundation has been created to continue the legacy generated by the Spirit of the Land program at Augustana, U of A Campus, Camrose. Over the past 7 years students as well as many individuals from the larger community entered into a common journey to explore our relationship with the land and with each other.  The program heightened the awareness of participants to the need to care for and nurture an environment that provides for our livelihood as well as our mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.

The newly formed Spirit of the Land Foundation will focus on providing opportunities for place based, hands-on learning activities in the community and surrounding rural areas. The Foundation will also address the issue of making farmland affordable for new young agrarians through co-operative and community land ownership.

A kick-off fundraiser concert, “Prairie Song,” will be hosted by the Spirit of the Land Foundation on Saturday, October 5 at the Camrose Regional Exhibition (CRE) in Camrose beginning at 6:30pm. For more information, visit www.spiritoftheland.ca or phone 780-781-5620.
