“The human brain is the most intricate object in the universe, a tangled orchestra of billions of cells generating precise electrical impulses that make up a mental symphony. Understanding how these harmonies conjure thoughts, movement, memories and emotions is perhaps the greatest scientific question of all—the brain seeking to understand itself—and yet the question remains unanswered after 150 years of investigation by many of the best brains.”

Everyone with interest in brain injury and applying “can do” approaches to rehabilitation and recovery

WHAT

A participatory gathering where individuals with brain injuries can tell their stories and seek firsthand insights from leading scientists, and from artists who understand the power of art in recovery.

WHY

The ultimate goal of this conference is to attract resources and raise awareness about the need for a brain education and rehabilitation centre in Battle River region, enabling those impacted to recover in familiar surroundings, with ongoing support providing hope for their loved ones. The conference will examine and report on recent breakthroughs and innovations in understanding the brain, neuroscience, and rehabilitation processes, especially neuroplasticity and therapies through the arts.
