I hope the New Year brings many great things to you, your Communities - and to Everyone in Battle River this very special . . . YEAR of the GROUSE . . .
This invitation is for an informal gathering of diverse local and regional people who are planning 2019 events that engage communities along the entire Battle River from the headwaters at Battle Lake to Battleford where the river joins the North Saskatchewan River.
LEARN ABOUT
- Mamio (Grouse) from Cree legends.
- Writing Contest: Schools across Alberta: Judy Louis, Shirley Cire, Parklands Regional Library
- A story inspired by a real mother grouse on Mt. Butte at Battle Lake. Co=Chair Jane Ross will present her story, "Who will Speak for the Mother Grouse?" Other artists and local dignitaries will also attend.
- Invitation to participate: If you would like to present a poem, story, or other art form, please consider this our invitation to do so.
Coffee, water and treats will be provided.ed. Food available for purchase.
